It's gonna be May!!! MAY!!!! The month that sneaks up on you like that one neighbor who suddenly wants to borrow your lawn mower. May is that glorious time of year when spring is in full bloom, your allergies stage a full-on revolt, and the weather can’t quite decide if it’s time to rock flip-flops or still wear socks with sandals (no judgment). It’s a month packed with celebrations, silliness, and, of course, plenty of reasons to party.
Let’s dive into some of the highlights that make May the MVP of months:
May 1: May Day
Kick things off with May Day, the ancient festival where people dance around maypoles and pretend, they’re all part of a Renaissance fair. If you want to join in, grab a flower crown — just try not to look like you’re auditioning for a woodland creature role in a fantasy film.
May 4: May the Fourth Be with You
This one’s for all the Star Wars fans out there. May 4th is your official holiday to channel your inner Jedi, rock those Yoda ears, and maybe convince your boss that “using the Force” is a legitimate work skill. Remember: “Do or do not. There is no try... to ignore this day.”
May 5: Cinco de Mayo
A fantastic excuse to eat tacos, guacamole, and maybe a few too many chips. If anyone questions your dedication, just remind them guacamole counts as a vegetable, right?
May 10: Mother’s Day
Don’t forget to shower Mom with love, flowers, chocolates, or at least a really sincere text. Moms have an uncanny ability to know when you’ve forgotten, so play it safe and show some appreciation!
May 25: Memorial Day
The unofficial start of summer, aka BBQ season. Fire up the grill but remember burnt burgers are a crime against humanity. Also, it’s a great day to honor and remember those who served, even as you perfect your potato salad recipe.
